Effluent pumps, also known as dosing pumps, sewage pumps or submersible pumps, are the heart of a working septic system. In a septic system where gravity is not sufficient to move wastewater from the septic tank into the leach field, an effluent pump is needed.  As with anything mechanical, these pumps will wear out and sometimes fail.  They may become clogged by debris, get broken or corroded baffles, problems with the float or control panel or just fail.  When this happens, the pump will fail to remove liquid from the pumping chamber and alarms will go off (if installed).  At this point, you should call us.
